A Week of Learning Beyond the Classroom
This past week, pupils across The British School of Gran Canaria enjoyed a range of exciting educational trips, giving them the opportunity to explore, discover and learn through real-life experiences beyond the classroom.
As an international school in Gran Canaria following the British curriculum, we believe educational visits play an important role in enriching learning and helping children make meaningful connections with their topics of study.
Nursery and Year 1 Tafira Visit Tío Isidro Farm
Our Nursery and Year 1 pupils in Tafira enjoyed a wonderful trip to Tío Isidro Farm, where they had the opportunity to explore the natural surroundings, learn about farm life and interact with animals.
The visit provided a hands-on learning experience, allowing pupils to discover more about nature, food production and the environment while enjoying a fun day outdoors with their classmates.
Nursery South Explore Mogán Garden Centre
As part of their current topic, “Things That Grow in Our Garden,” our Nursery South pupils visited the Mogán Garden Centre.
During the trip, children explored a variety of plants, flowers and gardening spaces, helping them better understand how plants grow and what they need to thrive. The visit encouraged curiosity, observation and a love of the natural world.
Year 2 Tafira Discover Poema del Mar
Meanwhile, our Year 2 pupils in Tafira visited Poema del Mar, where they deepened their learning about animals and the oceans.
Students were fascinated by the wide variety of marine life and habitats, learning more about sea creatures, ecosystems and the importance of protecting our oceans. The trip brought their classroom topic to life in an engaging and memorable way.
Learning Through Experience
These visits are a wonderful example of how learning extends beyond the classroom at The British School of Gran Canaria. Through educational trips, pupils develop curiosity, confidence and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
We would like to thank all staff involved in organising these valuable experiences and congratulate our pupils for their enthusiasm and excellent behaviour throughout the week.
