Staff Development and Team Building - August 2022
As part of the school preparations for the 2022-23 school year, school staff were in full attendance for the professional development days conducted prior to the start of term.
A range of activities were undertaken to ensure BSGC pedagogy was extended and that projects and specific learning activities were planned in support of the school’s Annual Aims, linked to the school’s development plan. This aims are;
- Ensure Rosenshine’s Principles are established and evident as the basis of all teaching in BSGC.
- Develop a community that is aware, articulate and able to identify and improve wellbeing and health.
- Prepare our students to be capable, compassionate and active custodians of the world.
Additionally, time was set aside for team building exercises and for staff to consider the importance of, and ways to develop a positive mindset. Both areas were considered as being very important, especially post-pandemic where we noticed less interactions and collaboration between staff from different sector due to COVID restrictions. Team work and collaborative support have long been the bedrock and a constant in BSGC, hence our desire to rebuild and enhance these key relationships.
