IGCSE Examination Results
In the middle of August students all around the world awoke to an exciting day as the results for their international examinations were published.
In a school year like no other, it was certainly a unique exam season with BSGC students and teachers rising to the challenges admirably. In most IGCSE subjects, students had sat exams in the habitual way while meeting the additional safety requirements in these COVID times. In IGCSE Science, students were awarded Teacher Assessed Grades after a rigorous assessment period in which the students could demonstrate their abilities in all aspects of their subjects to ensure they achieved the grades they so richly deserved.
And now results day had finally arrived! At IGCSE level our students achieved a 98% pass rate with a fantastic 66% at the highest grades, A or A* or their equivalents in the newer 1-9 grading system. One student achieved an extraordinary 11 grades at the very highest level of 9 or A*, five students achieved ten grades at A or A* equivalent and three more students achieved 9 such grades. The Y11 students are really well prepared to move onto AS level study and we look forward to welcoming them for the start of these advanced courses.
We at BSGC are so proud of the resilience and positive attitude of our IGCSE students and wish to say a big “Congratulations!” to them all.
