Día de Canarias
On Friday 28th May, we awoke with high expectation, knowing that BSGC was going to celebrate Día de Canarias and that the school’s COVID protocols were not going to be an obstacle with students and staff donning our traditional Canarian costumes and reminiscing on times gone by! Such celebrations help us to remember past traditions and allow us to practice our ancient sports and games; ensuring they are not forgotten.
It was doubly rewarding for the school to enjoy a delicious Canarian lunch after folklore dancing, playing our grandparents’ games, modelling clay, fighting with sticks and jumping like ancient shepherds! ¡Feliz Día de Canarias!
