CLOUD IMMERSION
Year 9MS and their tutor and Spanish teacher have been working extensively and intensively on the use of new technologies and the impact it can have on our lives if not used responsibly.
After creating a tutor display imitating a mobile phone screen showing a chat (which came third in the tutor display competition), they did not give up and reproduced a smaller-scale poster with the same design in order to enter it in this year’s ONCE competition, which also focuses on raising awareness about the issues of incorrect use of the Internet. We wish them the best of luck in that one!
In Spanish lessons, Jorge Alonso and his novel Secretos en la nube were also an inspiration as they read through the story and found out how their characters lost their partners, their families, jobs and friends because of the Internet as we never know what can happen with the information we post online.
After that, being able to meet the author (which we did on Zoom, of course!), who at the same time is an expert professional in cybersecurity, gave them a great opportunity to find out more about the job of writing literature as well as the risks we are exposed to nowadays when in front of a screen.
They not only have learnt a key message about e-safety but also will take the responsibility to pass it on as they now consider themselves to be experts and guardians of the world online!
