On Friday 03rd March, the Spanish second language students went on an excursion to visit the museum Cueva Pintada in Gáldar. The aim for this trip was to develop our Spanish listening and speaking skills. I thought the trip was very useful and interesting and a great opportunity for us to learn the history, tradition and culture of the Canarian Islands. I would recommend people to come! Whilst we took the tour we had a specialized guide to show us all the ancient objects. There are also many more who offer personalized tours in four languages (Spanish, German, English and French). In the museum there were many presentations, one of my favourites was a 3D video explaining the history behind Gran Canaria. This then led onto the original grounds where people built their homes. I found it very engaging and a good way to learn how Canarians lived in those times. After leaving the museum I felt that I have understood one of the most exciting moments in the history of the island and can relate more to the island´s background. But what I found more interesting is how the island rapidly changed over the centuries.
