The power of London

26nov2019-london2019On 4th November, 26 Year 8 students and three members of staff set off on a jam-packed week of fun and culture in London. Staying in Wembley, we started each day with a big buffet breakfast. Our students could sense the dynamism of the British capital.

We learnt a great deal about the history of London: exploring instruments of torture in the Tower of London, seeing dinosaur bones in the Natural History Museum and scaring ourselves in the Dungeons. We revelled in England's literary culture with a tour around Shakespeare's Globe, a day at the Harry Potter studios and a visit to a beautiful bookshop. The students saw the sights of London on the ground, from the river and from above with our sightseeing tour, river cruise and the London Eye.

Plenty of fun was had by all, including London's pigeons and squirrels who we shared lunch with when visiting the parks. Evening activities included restaurant meals, bowling and the brand new West End show, Mary Poppins. Congratulations to Adriana Leon and Daniel Pérez for winning the prize for making the most effort to speak English on the trip! All in all, it was practically perfect!
